The Friends of the Glen Rock Public Library hosts the annual All*Star Readathon to encourage young readers to read more, develop a joy for reading, and use the library. The All*Star Readathon raises funds for Children’s Room materials, programs, and services, such as computers, software, audio visual supplies, guest artists, and storytellers. The popular summer reading program is fully funded by funds raised through the All*Star Readathon.
All children are encouraged to participate to the best of their ability regardless of how they participate in Glen Rock Schools (i.e. homeschooled children are welcome to participate). Participation and reading level awards based on number of minutes/hours read will be given to successful participants. Apart from individual recognition, the highest participating Elementary School in Glen Rock (based on number of participants) and the highest participation rate per grade in each school will be recognized.
The Annual 2024 All*Star Readathon is starting on Sunday, February 4, 2024 and continues until Saturday, March 2, 2024.
